Transfer to Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Constabulary. We are looking for experienced Officers who believe in;

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary are offering the opportunity for substantive Police Constables who hold the National Investigators Exam and have an interest to train to become an accredited Detective to transfer to the Constabulary on a bespoke pathway with the overall aim to train to become a Detective.
If successful in your application, you would transfer to the Constabulary as a Police Constable, and following an initial settling in period, an assessment will then be taken as to establish whether you are ready to start the Detective Development Programme (DDP). An overview of what you can expect the pathway to look like is as follows:
- You start on a Hampshire and Isle of Wight Familiarisation Course, where you will learn about how HIOWC operates
- Your initial posting will be to an Investigations Team to imbed your learning from the Familiarisation Course
- After a short period you will then be placed on our new PC to DC transition programme* which includes:
- Time working with a DC as a non-case holder
- Your Tier 2 interviewing course and programme
- Detective Development Programme course followed by a tutor period
*Please be advised that to be accepted onto the Detective Development Programme, you will be required to have Line Management endorsement, and it is ultimately the decision of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary as to whether it is approved for you to join the programme. As such, by submitting an application for this pathway, there is no guarantee that you will be accepted onto this programme.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- You must be a serving police officer from a Home Office Force with no current performance or conduct concerns.
- You must have successfully completed the two year probationary period and the Policing Diploma, or your forces equivalent qualification at the point of application.
- You must hold your National Investigators Exam (NIE) at the point of application. Your NIE should have at least 18 months left before it is due to expire.
- Hold the appropriate qualifications for your rank.

Successful applicants will need to;
- Satisfy all the relevant eligibility criteria and pre-employment checks including, medical screening, vetting and a fitness test.
- Be available to attend a 6 day Hampshire and Isle of Wight Familiarisation Course transferee course.
- Once you have completed this process and accepted our offer, we will contact your existing force for information including pension, salary, service, training and unpaid leave.
