  • Location:London
Apply now

Rejoin the Metropolitan Police Service and help shape the New Met for London Rejoin on your previous serving pay point, with continuity of pension and annual leave entitlement. You’ll also receive £3,024 London Weighting, £1,011 London Allowance 1, and either £4,327 London Allowance 2 or your current Rent/Housing Allowance entitlement.

The Met is working hard to restore London’s trust and confidence in policing by delivering more trust, less crime and high standards. We’re looking for experienced former police officers to bring their skills, knowledge and commitment back to policing and help shape the future of the Met.

Our Rejoiner pathway is designed for former officers who have resigned from a Home Office police force within the last five years and are ready to return to a rewarding policing career.

Join one of the most diverse and dynamic policing environments in the UK, where every day presents new challenges and opportunities to make a lasting difference to the lives of Londoners. Whether you’re protecting vulnerable people, supporting victims, investigating crime, responding to critical incidents or building trust within communities, your experience can help create safer neighbourhoods across the capital.

As the UK’s largest police service, the Met offers unrivalled operational experience, ongoing professional development and access to a wide range of specialist roles and career pathways.

We recognise the valuable skills and experience you bring. Our Rejoiner process is designed to make your return to policing as straightforward as possible, with support throughout your application, onboarding and induction.

Please note that while we will consider any preferences you express during your application, placement into a specific role or area cannot be guaranteed, given the current focus on neighbourhood policing.

Ready to return to policing?

Bring your experience back to the Metropolitan Police Service and help us deliver more trust, less crime and high standards for London.
