Preparting for Promotions: The 2027 Offer

 

During 2027, officers will be able to attend up to 12 specialist webinars designed to support them in preparing for promotion and performing confidently at every stage of the process.  These sessions will be interactive and places are limited so sign up early.

Delivered by experienced police promotion specialists, the programme will help officers:

 
 
  • Understand what promotion boards assess and what to expect.
  • Apply the Competency and Values Framework effectively.
  • Select and structure strong evidence-based examples.
  • Respond clearly and confidently to opening and competency questions.
  • Demonstrate emotional awareness, ownership, collaboration and innovation.
  • Show how they support and inspire others.
  • Strengthen their critical-analysis and decision-making responses.
  • Manage pressure and develop a credible professional presence.
  • Prepare and deliver an impactful closing statement.

The webinars will provide practical, accessible support for officers seeking promotion from Constable to Sergeant and Sergeant to Inspector. Participants will benefit from expert insight, structured preparation and techniques informed by extensive experience of conducting and observing police promotion boards.

By attending sessions relevant to their promotion journey, officers can identify their strengths, address areas for development and approach their promotion process with greater confidence and preparation.
