The job of Mobile Enforcement Officer is focusing on promoting greater compliance with speed limits and other road traffic legislation through targeted camera enforcement and education in support of the Safer Roads Unit’s casualty reduction strategy.

You are to conduct mobile speed enforcement at sites identified by the SRU as speed or casualty hotspots, Tasking Coordination Group operations and other areas of community concern, using type-approved speed detection devices. Whilst conducting speed enforcement actively identify other serious road traffic offences (Fatal 5), recording sufficient evidence to enable onward processing by way of conditional offer/court proceedings.

You will conduct pre-enforcement checks of road signage at site locations to ensure lawful enforcement can take place. Liaise where necessary with the Traffic Management Team to ensure any deficiency in signing or other factors affecting safety are brought to their immediate attention in order that they can be rectified as soon as practicable.

You will make best use of enforcement time by utilising local knowledge and experience of camera deployment to achieve current site/route priority targets. Maintain accurate records of enforcement time spent at each site and to provide operational feedback and recommendations in respect of existing site locations as well as actively identifying and evaluating potential new sites for enforcement.

Essential Qualifications 

Educated to QCF Level 2 (3-5) passes OR work
experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a
comparable level.

Hold a full UK Driving licence and/or a full Category A
Motorcycle Licence.

Essential Experience 

Considerable experience in a role involving technical
equipment, preferably speed detection and/or
photographic.
