Reporting to the Unregistered Schools Specialist Inspector, you will work with inspectors and legal colleagues to identify, investigate, and support the prosecution of unregistered schools. You will lead enquiries, secure and assess evidence, and prepare cases for potential legal action.
We are seeking a highly skilled Unregistered Schools Investigator to join our Unregistered Schools Team and play a key role in safeguarding children by addressing unregistered and potentially illegal education settings.
Reporting to the Unregistered Schools Specialist Inspector, you will work with inspectors and legal colleagues to identify, investigate, and support the prosecution of unregistered schools. You will lead enquiries, secure and assess evidence, and prepare cases for potential legal action.
We are looking for an experienced investigator with strong analytical skills, sound judgement, and a meticulous approach to evidence‑gathering. You will help enhance the team’s investigatory methods and support the development of an improved strategy for identifying unregistered provision.
Candidates will demonstrate initiative, confidence, and professionalism, with strong competence in using IT systems and databases. The ability to quickly acquire a clear understanding of the legislation underpinning this work is essential.
