The NWROCU RTSU are seeking to recruit accomplished and highly skilled individuals to join our team as an ICT Applications administrator to provide specialist functional and technical support for all users in the use of the RTSU operational network and applications. This is a multi-faceted ICT role for technical support of the RTSU network and all aspects of the infrastructure including a wide range of front-end covert surveillance equipment and engagement in large-scale RTSU deployments out in the field.

The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit is a collaborative multi agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North West Region.

The RTSU provide a Technical Surveillance service to the Northwest Regional Forces and Northwest Regional Organised Crime Unit, incorporating multiple covert technical surveillance solutions that utilises an RTSU ICT operational network and applications in order to implement effective technical solutions and strategies that will support covert surveillance operations.

The NWROCU RTSU are seeking to recruit accomplished and highly skilled individuals to join our team as an ICT Applications administrator to provide specialist functional and technical support for all users in the use of the RTSU operational network and applications. This is a multi-faceted ICT role for technical support of the RTSU network and all aspects of the infrastructure including a wide range of front-end covert surveillance equipment and engagement in large-scale RTSU deployments out in the field.

Essential and desirable knowledge and experience required for this role are outlined in the JDQ role profile linked to this advertisement.

The NWROCU leads the policing response across the region posed by serious and organised crime in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales.  The NWROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the North West region to deliver the Government’s serious and organised Crime strategy and to protect communities from harm.

The post is subject to an initial secondment of two years reviewable based on continuous funding and performance.

Further developments in NWROCU’s capabilities are anticipated in the future. Applications received for Operational roles that require mandatory Officer Safety/First Aid training must hold valid in date training or able to undertake upon application.

The Grade of this role has been determined using the Merseyside HAY procedure and has been afforded a Merseyside Grade F. This equates to a salary range of £40,383 – £47,046. Successful applicants from other Regional Forces will be paid a salary within this pay range.

Following initial induction training the post holder will be expected to form part of an on call out of hours duty rota for which an additional on call payment is made.

These are full time roles working ‘flexitime’ however, applicants must be aware that there is a requirement for the post holders to be flexible in relation to working hours.

Successful applicants working within NWROCU will be subject to MV (Management Vetting) and SC (Security Clearance) prior to taking up post.
