Within this role, selected officers will provide support in both response and community policing functions, serving as mentors to guide and develop new officers.

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) is seeking applications from suitably qualified, experienced officers to join our frontline operational teams.

At the RCIPS, the role of a Constable is to protect life and property, ensure public safety and security, preserve order, prevent crime and detect offences whilst maintaining close and courteous relationships with the community and being committed to keeping them safe and upholding quality service at all times. Within this role, selected officers will provide support in both response and community policing functions, serving as mentors to guide and develop new officers.

Criterion:

Interested candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years of continuous, full-time police experience and current employment with an established police service, with a minimum of three (3) years of policing experience in any of the following areas:

Community Policing & response policing

Investigations

Intelligence

Tactical Firearms

Child Protection and Child Safeguarding (Qualification: Advanced Interview Training and

Accreditation)

Oualified Detectives

Public Order, CBRN & Protective Security

Contingency Planning & Testing

Digital Forensics

Surveillance

Tactical Flight Officers

Financial Investigators

Experienced roads policing officers (Forensic Collision Investigators / Vehicle Examiners)

Experienced Police Officers who have recently left policing within the last 5 years are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven track record of policing experience in one or more of the mentioned areas. The Commissioner is especially keen to hire officers (or former officers) with a passion for, and previous experience with, mentoring and tutoring probationary constables in their continued professional development.

Successful candidates will work collaboratively in a team environment alongside fellow officers and support staff to contribute to RIPS’ overarching strategic and operational objectives.

Note: Applicants will undergo rigorous background checks. Discovery of any adverse information may lead to disqualification.

Benefits:

Will be determined in accordance with the Police Act (2021 revision) and Police Regulations (1996 revision), Public Service Pensions Act (2023 Revision) with 12% contribution towards the Pension Scheme, CINICO Health Plan (100% coverage) and CI$200 Monthly Rent Allowance. No income tax on salary.
