Leadership Academy to provide in-depth webinar on how to apply for central government funding

The session is aimed at Police Senior Leaders, SROs, PCCs, British Overseas Territories, Crown Dependencies and professionals working closely with the FCDO and the Home Office.

On the 11th of February the Police Oracle Leadership Training Academy will be presenting a two-hour webinar titled HMG Priorities and Funding Best Practice.

The purpose of the session is to provide training and guidance on how to track funding priorities, translate them into programmes at a project level and give your organisation/project, the best chance of securing funding.  In addition, it will set out what will be expected of you to maintain that funding.

The session is relevant for practitioners working on across -Whitehall programmes & projects, and what is seen as best practice and translatable across policing. The session is aimed at Police Senior Leaders, SROs and for PCCs, British Overseas Territories, Crown Dependencies and professionals supporting projects for Sovereign Bases and/or working closely with FCDO and the Home Office.

This insightful webinar will provide insights into HMG (His Majesty’s Government) priorities; relevance to the audience; policy-making, change management and tactical implementation; networks and strategic partners. It will highlight the importance of collaboration; funding frameworks and provide guidance on navigating and leveraging them.

The Forensic Opportunities Trawl (FOT) project will review closed CCRC applications where the applicant was convicted of rape or murder before 1 January 2016 and the identity of the offender is in issue. The objective of the FOT is to identify those cases where there are forensic opportunities and to pursue relevant lines of investigation. The project will also identify lessons and opportunities for improvement in the CCRC’s regular casework. Cases are assessed at phase 2 and detailed investigations carried out at phase 3. The purpose of the Investigations Adviser role is to conduct phase 2 assessments, recommend which cases progress to phase 3, and provide advice on potential lines of investigation at phase 3.
