Chief constables should recruit based on workforce need – not arbitrary numbers
During a keynote speech at the national Police, Probaton and CAFCASS conference, UNISON's general secretary Christina McAnea also said ministers must recognise the "vital role" police staff play and avoid cutting specialist support to boost officer numbers.
