August’s programme builds on the themes explored throughout July, with webinars covering investigations, safeguarding, digital evidence, financial crime, legislative developments, and emerging technology, alongside specialist Open Programme learning focused on domestic homicide prevention.

Although July’s programme covered a broad range of investigative and safeguarding topics, one of the standout sessions focused on Reflective Decision-Making in MAPPA, encouraging practitioners to strengthen professional judgement within multi-agency public protection arrangements. The session explored the importance of structured reflection, accountability, and defensible decision-making when managing complex cases involving high-risk offenders, reinforcing the value of effective collaboration and clear professional reasoning.

As the programme continues to evolve, these themes remain central to supporting professionals across policing and criminal justice.
