Join Police Digital Service as a Strategic Policing Partner Fixed Term role ranging rom 6-12 months, starting at £80k per annum (pro rata based on length of contract and dependant upon skills and experience) For this exciting opportunity, we are seeking senior leaders and ambassadors who will be responsible for shaping and leading the Police Digital Service’s strategic engagement with police forces and national stakeholders, to deliver sustainable, customer-centred digital transformation across UK policing. The Strategic Policing Partners comprise a deployable bench of subject matter experts and experience professionals from the policing community who can be deployed to support local forces or national programmes in delivery. Deployment and support will be dependent on specific skillsets and experience as well as demand required from local forces or national programmes from a Policing Partner for short to medium-term initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Priority Project Deployment

  • To remain responsive to supporting on-demand projects, programmes or initiatives across the policing DDAT landscape for both local and national policing

Relationship Managers

  • Build relationships and credibility with senior leadership, stakeholders, and elected members, effectively communicating and managing expectations.
  • Act as an ambassador and representative for PDS on any deployment or exercise

Customer Success

  • Act as an overall escalation point for complex customer issues, ensuring they are resolved effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes and support local, regional, and national capabilities through tailored solutions.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction and accelerate value realisation.

What you need to succeed in the role

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in a senior leadership role in policing.
  • Experience of developing and executing strategic plans that deliver measurable results.
  • Proven track record in customer success, stakeholder engagement, and partnership management.
  • Proven and significant experience in leading and assuring large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience of delivering digital transformational change.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with national policing bodies and/or multi-force collaborations (e.g., NPCC portfolios, regional collaborations, Home Office).
  • Commercial and supplier management experience, including developing requirements, shaping procurements, and managing third-party delivery.
  • Understanding of information management, data standards, and interoperability challenges in policing and law enforcement.

Working Arrangements

This is a remote role with occasional national travel to attend meetings as required.

All applicants must be eligible to undergo NPPV3 (Non Police Personnel Vetting Level 3) and SC vetting clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been cleared before starting with PDS.
