This role is based on one of the 20 Major Investigation Teams (MIT) in London. The purpose of a MIT is to investigate homicides and, as required, serious crime and high-risk missing person investigations. The role holder will conduct a range of investigative tasks, handle evidence and manage information under the direction of the SIO, IO or supervisor. The duties will be in line with current standards and to ensure cases are progressed effectively through the criminal justice system. This is an exciting role. You will work with police staff investigators (at PIP level 2) and Detective Constables. MITs are led by a DCI supported by Detective Inspectors and Detective Sergeants. The role of Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) will be performed by the DCI or DI.
You and your team will be based at one of the four SC hubs. Since your team can investigate incidents that have occurred across London, you will expected to be able to work anywhere in London.
Key Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities are similar to those of a Detective Constable on a MIT, who also possess a PIP2 accreditation.
