Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for 3 x Analysts to support 2 Nationwide Operations.

Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for 3 x Intelligence Analysts to support Operation Hydrant and Operation Beaconport. The Operations are the national coordination hubs for non-recent child sexual abuse cases involving people of public prominence and/or within an institution or organisation.

The Operations were established in August 2014 as it became clear that police forces across the country were experiencing a surge in reports of non-recent child sexual abuse from adults in the wake of revelations around Jimmy Savile, our work facilitates forces to agree primacy, promotes collaborative working, and expedites the sharing of intelligence and information.

Location: Sheffield based.
(1 x position for Beaconport is fully remote with some expensed travel, 2 x positions for Hydrant are hybrid, 3 days in the office, 2 working from home)
Contract: 6 months initially, likely to be extended a number of years.
Salary: PAYE Rate: £20.98 / Umbrella: £26.65 per hour
Vetting: Must be eligible for Security Vetting (will be fast tracked).

Main Responsibilities

  • Collect, Collate, evaluate and analyse information from a variety of internal and external sources
  • Produce and develop high quality analytical products to support tactical and strategic decision making
  • Develop inferences and test hypotheses to develop analytical products, briefings and formal reports, including conclusions and recommendations
  • Support performance monitoring for UK police forces and key partner agencies in relation to non-recent child sex abuse
  • Respond to bespoke requests
  • Present the results of analysis in the most suitable format to all relevant parties, including outside organisations
  • Gather, verify and assess all appropriate and available information to gain an accurate understanding of situations and their strategic or tactical/operational context
  • Assess threats, risks and harm, thinking about the wider impact of decisions
  • Exercise discretion and professional judgement to ensure decisions/recommendations are appropriate and proportionate, reviewing all decisions in the light of new information received
  • Any other duties that are commensurate with the role and grade as may be requested by management.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience of working in a confidential environmental with personal responsibility for handling sensitive data
  • Demonstrate a high level of critical and analytical thinking, being methodical, creative and have an eye for detail
  • Experience in researching, processing and analysing large volumes of data through the use of analytical techniques and products, RISC Trained.
  • Demonstrate effective report writing and presentation skills, with experience in delivering to all levels of an organisation and being articulate and able to debate complex issues
  • Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure, possessing good time management skills
  • Ability to use persuasion through professional excellence to highlight the benefits of a particular approach, and negotiate terms of reference to focus on answering the right questions in the right way by demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills, with proven experience of forming and maintaining internal and external relationships
  • Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Advanced Level Excel
  • Good understanding of policing databases

Desirable criteria

  • A working knowledge of HOLMES system
  • Previous experience of, or trained in the use of i2, Microsoft Reporting, Mapping or equivalent software
