Police Oracle Promotion Board Mock Interview Support – Exclusive Subscriber Benefit

Are you a Sergeant or Inspector going for promotion?

Our mock promotion board interview programme is specifically designed to help you overcome the final stage of the promotion process. Delivered by Police Oracle and sponsored by Red Snapper Managed Services.

The programme offers a comprehensive journey of self-discovery, identifying both strengths and areas for improvement through a structured approach that has assisted officers at all ranks, successfully achieving promotion success.

Our strategic police advisor, Mike Worrall, a former Detective Chief Superintendent from Kent Police, will provide you with valuable insights into effective preparation. Mike has been a reactive and proactive detective in all ranks for 28 years, and as a former head of crime has led numerous high-profile investigations. During the last five years of his service Mike chaired numerous promotion boards, through this experience he observed many candidates who were wholly unprepared and did not know what to expect from their promotion board.

To support those going for promotion, Mike is delivering one-to-one and group sessions supported by Jill Staples-Harding, a seasoned Inspector with 30 years experience in the Metropolitan police where she worked for several years as a Work Based Assessor for newly promoted Sergeants and Inspectors. She was also the Diversity Lead within the Met Police Federation and in this capacity, observed many promotion boards, up to and including Superintendent level, to ensure fairness and parity for all candidates.

Preparing for your mock board:

  1. Clarify you are being supported for your promotion board.
  2. If so, review the webinars which relate to the promotion board applicable to you, these are listed below for both Constables and Sergeants going for promotion.
  3. Familiarize yourself with the Competency Value Framework (CVF) on the College of Policing website dated 8th May 2024.
  4. Ensure you have suitable and relevant examples for each of the CVF competencies.
  5. Make sure you sign up to the introductory webinar at the bottom of this page to register for a mock interview and promotion board support.
  6. For the debrief of your mock board ensure you can make notes which will aid your learning.
