Transfer to Hampshire and the Isle of Wight Constabulary and receive a payment of up to £8000. Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge? Transferring to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary will give you the variety, challenge and opportunities you need to progress in your career whilst living and working in the perfect blend of rural and city with so many activities, events and places to go. We are looking for experienced Officers who believe in; Providing exceptional local policing, Relentlessly pursuing criminals and Putting victims first.

Rank – Substantive Constable with PIP2 qualification
As a serving Police Officer, you will transfer on your existing pay point which will be between £31,164 – £50,256 per annum.  The South East Allowance payment of £2,000 per annum will also apply.

Intake Dates:  September, November 2026 & February 2027.

Relocation Payment

In return for your commitment and fantastic service to the communities that we serve, upon transferring to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, you may be eligible to claim up to £8000 relocation payment (please note that tax implications may apply) subject to meeting the full eligibility criteria outlined within the Relocation Assistance for Police Officer Procedure.  For more information, please visit our Relocation Assistance Page.

What will the transferee process be like?

When you join Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, you will attend a 6 day Hampshire and IOW Familiarisation course on your first week. The Familiarisation course is our opportunity to welcome you to the force and for you to settle in. We will also cover any training gaps before you then move into your posting location.

After you have attended your Familiarisation course, you will then move into your posting location, to start providing a fantastic service to the people of Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

 

 

Essential Experience and Qualifications

 

  • You must be a serving police officer from a Home Office Force with no current performance or conduct concerns.

 

  • You must be PIP2 accredited, and will be required to evidence your PIP2 accreditation during the pre-employment checks stage of the process. If you do not have evidence of your PIP2 accreditation, please do contact the Recruitment Team at police.recruitment@hampshire.police.uk and we will be able to provide further advice.

 

  • You must have successfully completed the two year probationary period and the Policing Diploma, or your forces equivalent qualification at the point of application.

 

  • Hold the appropriate qualifications for your rank.
  • Hold a full manual or automatic driving licence.

 

 

Successful applicants will need to;

 

  • Satisfy all the relevant eligibility criteria and pre-employment checks including, medical screening, vetting and a fitness test.

 

  • Be available to attend a 6 day (dependent on your skills transfer) Hampshire and IOW Familiarisation course.

 

  • Once you have completed this process and accepted our offer, we will contact your existing force for information including pension, salary, service, training and unpaid leave.
