About The Role Do you enjoy finding solutions to problems? Are you interested in reducing crime through "secured by design" in the built environment? We are looking for a someone who can provide specialist crime prevention advice and guidance relating to the built environment, using the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles and other crime prevention practices to minimise crime, disorder, the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour within the communities covered by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary. You will liaise with architects, designers and developers; promoting an awareness of the designing out crime service, NPCC approved crime prevention initiatives, including Secure by Design; to build awareness of the principles of crime prevention through design; and to build adoption of recommended standards and specifications and Provide specialist advice on the security, design and refurbishment of developments to influence their design standards and specifications in order to minimise crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour. About The Role You will use quality assured processes to analyse, compare and evaluate friction-ridge detail within finger, palm or foot impressions obtained from crime scenes. Use computerised and/or manual reference samples to identify individuals to assist with the investigation, detection and prevention of crime. You will be establishing the identity of the donor of finger, palm or foot impressions. Manage evidential material in line with standard operating procedures to maintain the integrity, continuity, and security of the exhibit(s) for the purpose of the investigative process and court proceedings. You will be accurately documenting and reporting evidential findings and outcomes, ensuring compliance with the Forensic Science Regulator’s Code of Practice. Assisting investigations and supporting the criminal justice process through the provision of accurate and timely reporting, relevant supporting information and disclosure materials. Please note: You will have good eyesight which meets the prevailing standards at the time, with or without correction, in order to perform the detailed and meticulous work associated with the role. About the Role Key accountabilities include but are not limited to: To provide guidance, assistance and encouragement to police officers, police staff and event organisers who are undertaking the planning role for police operations or public events. Provide support including planning, deployment, co-ordination, contingency management, finance, welfare and logistics and, when required, attendance in relation to critical and major incidents, operational support and contingency planning procedures. Undertake the creation and review of designated Force Policy & Procedure and force guidance in line with Authorised Professional Practice (APP). Support the JOU Contingency Planning Officers in the review, deployment, training and exercising relating to contingency planning: providing assistance across the JOU when required. Review Force action plans making necessary amendments and liaising with partner agencies to seek the appropriate information. Undertake the planning and delivery of force operations, spontaneous events and Mutual Aid in accordance with national guidance If you have a knowledge of the police organisation and structure, Public Order and Public Safety processes and contingency planning this would be an advantage but full training will be given.
