About The Role You will Supervise, guide and support a team of Forensic Scientific Services Department staff, located throughout Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, to ensure the effective delivery of forensic support to volume and priority (Stage 1) and serious and complex (Stage 2) investigations. Your provide first line management, including, but not limited to, the recruitment and selection of new staff, training and developing, managing performance and wellbeing in line with the relevant force policies and procedures and Monitor and ensure compliance with local, regional and national guidelines relating to standard operating procedures, ISO 17020 and the Forensic Science Regulator. You will also develop forensic strategies which ensure the allocation of appropriate resources and the co-ordination of crime scene examinations in accordance with forensic quality standards and your be fully conversant with the National Intelligence Model, engaging with local investigation teams relating to area crime trends. Attend tactical planning meetings to support the identification of crime series, ensuring linked crimes are presented in a way that supports further investigation and the detection of offenders. About The Role

Essential Qualifications

 Educated to QCF Level 4 with QCF Level 3 in Chemistry, Biology or other relevant science subject OR significant work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

To have successfully completed a nationally recognised Stage 1 and Stage 2 CSI course and be signed off as a competent Stage 2 CSI with at least 3 years’ experience.

Essential Experience

  •  Significant experience in a related field, examples may include:
  •  Forensic work.
  •  General science/laboratory work. o Extensive, detailed investigative work.
  •  Experience in a Criminal Justice role.
