Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are seeking motivated and detail-focused individuals to join a team of operational fingerprint examiners within the Fingerprint Bureau. As a Trainee Fingerprint Examiner, you will receive training and mentoring to support your progression towards a fully competent, operational Non‑Reporting Fingerprint Examiner.
Working within an accredited forensic environment, you will use quality assured processes to analyse, compare and evaluate friction ridge detail (fingerprints, palm prints and impressions) obtained from crime scenes and exhibits. This work directly assists the identification of individuals and contributes to the investigation, detection and prevention of crime.
The role is primarily desk-based within the Bureau and requires sustained concentration, a methodical approach, and meticulous attention to detail to deliver accurate, evidentially robust outcomes for use within the criminal justice system.

Essential Qualifications
Educated to QCF Level 2, OR work experience deemed to have

Essential Experience
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills which support the
ability to make reasoned decisions in a logical, efficient and
effective manner.
To be computer literate and a competent keyboard user.
Proven ability to prioritise workload and work in a demanding
environment methodically undertaking complex tasks with a
meticulous attention to detail to deliver accurate, quality assured
results.
Proven experience of communicating and providing information
in an understandable format for the end user, in line with
procedural guidelines.
Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative to manage a
demanding workload in order to meet operational deadlines.
