The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) supports the Police and Crime Commissioner serving Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The OPCC provides a link between Hampshire & Isle Wight Constabulary (HIOWC) and the communities they serve through setting the budget and holding the Chief Constable to account in the delivery of an efficient and effective service. As a Governance Support & and Casework Supervisor you will support the Head of Governance Risk and Compliance with organising and delivering the business services that ensure organisational compliance, efficiency and effectiveness, including finance, human resources, legal and reception
The post-holder will also supervise and be supported by the Governance Support & Customer Services Officer.
Key responsibilities are, but not limited to:
Management of all day-to-day operational office functions, including line management, coordination and quality
assurance of the activities relating to reception and gateway services into the OPCC.
Taking an innovative approach to reception and gateway services to ensure OPCC is providing inclusive, accessible and customer-focused services.
Manage the reception, review and response to all casework within the OPCC ensuring it is dealt with at the appropriate level and relevant matters are escalated by the Business Support & Customer Services Officers.
Ensure liaison with the Executive Assistants, Complaints Review and Hearings Manager, Communications team and other relevant OPCC officers to ensure a holistic approach in responses to the public and other stakeholders.
Manage delegated tasks relating to but not limited to:
• Financial transactions.
• HR administrative functions.
• Legal administrative functions.
• Management of Freedom of Information requests and preparation of responses in line with ICO guidance.
• Contribution to policy and development, management and improvement of procedures tasked by line Manager
Essential Qualifications
Educated to QCF level 6 standard or equivalent, or to have significant workplace experience in a related field.
Essential Experience
Good working knowledge of policing and the wider public sector.
Ability to deal with a range of complex, interrelated issues and on occasion with minimal direction, whilst maintaining personal resilience.
Experience of managing ambiguity particularly of a political nature.
Experience of managing people to deliver quantitative and qualitative objectives agreed timeframes.
Excellent oral and written communications skills, including demonstrable ability to work with people at all levels.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate solutions to problems and to network with others to achieve positive outcomes.
Ability to deal with a range of complex, interrelated issues.
Proven ability to problem solve and deliver innovative solutions, as well as to work creatively and come up with new and imaginative ideas.
Evidence of motivating people and collaborating with others to identify fresh approaches.
Demonstrate an understanding of the balance between local operational needs, strategic aims and public perceptions. Experience of working with senior post-holders and/or elected
officials.
