Become a Special Constable in Hampshire You may not have considered policing before. You may not see yourself as someone who would wear the uniform. But if you’re calm, fair-minded, good with people and willing to take responsibility, you may already have the qualities we’re looking for. As a Special Constable, you’ll be a trained volunteer police officer with the same powers as regular officers. You’ll work alongside policing teams to support victims, prevent crime, protect vulnerable people and help keep communities safe. Every shift is different. The role can be demanding, but you’ll see the impact of your time - in the people you help and the communities you support.

Policing is a career like no other. Our police officers, police staff and volunteers show courage, teamwork and compassion on a daily basis to make a real difference to people’s lives in the communities they serve.
