  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, including data protection and communications data regulations.
  • Utilise advanced IT tools and software, including Excel, Analyst Notebook, and iBase.
  • Work with communications data and internet intelligence in line with legal frameworks.
  • Adapt to new technologies and systems as required by evolving operational needs.

Capability Building and Mentoring (30% of Role)

  • Support the development of sustainable analytical capability within the local force by mentoring and coaching relevant staff (where possible/practicable) in analytical techniques, tools and standards.
  • Provide structured on the job guidance to embed best practice in intelligence development, data analysis, product creation and dissemination.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of training inputs, workshops and briefings tailored to the operational context and capability needs of the host agency.
  • Identify gaps in analytical capability, processes and systems, providing feedback to the RSMS lead and contributing to capability assessments and improvement plans.
  • Promote the adoption of intelligence led policing principles, ensuring analytical outputs are effectively integrated into investigative and operational decision making.
  • Support the development of analytical processes, governance and standards to ensure consistency, quality and sustainability beyond the deployment.

Experience / Skills / Qualifications Required
