Positive feedback for Police Oracle Training Academy webinars

Police Oracle 03/07/2024

The online sessions are available free of charge to all Police Oracle subscribers.

A full 2024 schedule has now been published for the free monthly training sessions provided by the Police Oracle Training Academy run by Red Snapper Learning (RSL).

Since April, Police Oracle full subscribers have had exclusive access to the sessions across a range of topics, including Dealing with Fatigue in Blue Light Services and Conflict Management – de-escalation techniques. To date RSL have delivered seven webinars with a total of 788 registering delegates.

Best Practice in CCTV retrieval, RIPA in relation to Open Source Material and Effective Communication for Leaders are among the webinars still to come this year. The sessions, which have proven hugely popular among attendees, have been borne out of a partnership between RSL and the Police Oracle Training Academy.

Kylie Wilson, Client Services Director at RSL, said: “At Red Snapper Learning in conjunction with Police Oracle we strive to provide quality webinars on important subject matter areas.  We have been delighted with the attendance, engagement and positive feedback we have received, as a result we are increasing the frequency of webinars and expanding the subject areas we will be delivering on.”

The rest of 2024 has been mapped out after an encouraging start saw the sessions extremely well received. One attendee at the Investigative Interviewing webinar described the presenter as “an experienced practitioner in the use of the model”.

They added: “The presentation was clear and followed a logical structure. Online teaching/presenting can offer unique challenges in developing co-operative learning, particularly in a short taster session. The presenter was professional, delivered at an appropriate pace, and provided a succinct overview of some relatively complex and nuanced material. Such courses, as noted, will take numerous days to deliver meaningfully.”

According to another, the presenter of the CPIA (Disclosure) Training had the ability to make a “dry subject, enlightening and interesting”.

“Disclosure is an ongoing process and with a number of prosecution cases in our office it was a timely refresher.”
