Help Keep Our Police Fleet Operational
Are you practical, reliable, and take pride in high standards? We’re looking for a Volunteer Vehicle and Cycle Maintenance Assistant to play a vital role in maintaining our police fleet and supporting frontline operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of the team, your responsibilities may include:
- Carrying out regular cleaning and basic checks on police vehicles (such as oil levels and tyre pressure)
- Maintaining and monitoring vehicle equipment and inventory
- Reporting any damage, loss, or faults promptly and ensuring kit meets required standards
- Escalating vehicle issues to your line manager where needed
- Transporting vehicles to and from workshops for servicing and repair
- Supporting workshop teams with the delivery and collection of parts
- Delivering and positioning Public Support Unit (PSU) vans at planned locations
- Cleaning and performing basic checks on police cycles
- Coordinating vehicle cleaning at approved external sites
- Providing a consistent, reliable, and high-quality service at all times

What We’re Looking For
- A proactive and dependable individual
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks efficiently
- A team player who can also work independently
- A full, valid driving licence (essential) which must include C1 and D1 (should you wish to assist with PSU van mobilisations)
Desirable Skills
Previous experience of presenting vehicles to a high standard
