About The Role You will provide a thorough and risk focussed vetting service assessing the suitability of police officers, staff, volunteers, contractors and partners to hold clearance in line with force and national vetting policy.

As a PSVU Analyst you will have a detailed working knowledge of and conduct relevant vetting checks in accordance with the Vetting Code of Practice 2023, the Vetting APP 2025 (and any subsequent updates), The Police (Vetting) Regulations 2025 (and any subsequent updates), and Data Protection Legislation. You will liaise with Government agencies to progress National Security vetting checks.

You will identify the requirement for additional research and liaise with other outside agencies, as necessary, ensuring that the correct requests are made and that returns are complete and received within scheduled timelines. You will identify opportunities to obtain additional information from other sources and from the vetting subject as and when required. You will carry out vetting interviews with candidates when required, including existing police officers and police staff.

You will research and analyse information from policing systems and other sources to assess risk and make evidence-based decisions on vetting clearance.

Essential Qualifications 

Educated to QCF Level 3 (2 passes plus a minimum QCF
level 2 in English) OR work experience deemed to have
brought the post holder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.

Proven experience working in a busy office environment
undertaking duties involving meticulous attention to detail
and accurately recording data.

Competent use of standard Microsoft Office Automation
such as Word and Excel.

Proven ability to prioritise workloads against competing demands and
meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

Maintaining/administrating/ analysing complex manual and
electronic databases.
