What You’ll Be Doing

As a Resource Planner, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating police officer and staff resources to maintain operational resilience. You will:

  • Plan and manage duty rosters to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
  • Monitor abstractions such as sickness, training and court commitments.
  • Maintain accurate records within the Duty Management System, ensuring payroll-related information is correct.
  • Allocate overtime and resources in line with operational needs and budget requirements.
  • Coordinate staffing for major events, incidents, protests, and mutual aid deployments.
  • Work closely with Learning & Development teams to balance training requirements with operational demands.
  • Provide workforce data, staffing reports and planning information to senior leaders.
  • Liaise with managers and senior officers to resolve staffing challenges and support effective workforce planning.

Why This Role Matters

Effective resource planning is critical to keeping Lincolnshire safe. Your work will help ensure the right people, with the right skills, are available at the right time to respond to incidents, support investigations, and deliver frontline policing services. By maintaining staffing levels and supporting informed decision-making, you will make a direct contribution to the Force’s ability to serve local communities.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Has strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Is confident working with data, systems and management information.
  • Communicates effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement.
  • Shares our commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding.
  • Is flexible and willing to support operational requirements, including occasional work outside normal office hours.
