To strengthen multi-agency understanding of the complex relationship between domestic abuse, mental health and vulnerability in young adults by exploring the lessons from the Lauren Domestic Homicide Review. Participants will develop confidence in recognising coercive control, understanding barriers to disclosure and improving information sharing and safeguarding responses across health, education, social care and criminal justice settings.

    Learning Objectives:

Recognise the signs and impact of domestic abuse, coercive control and mental health vulnerability in young adults.

Understand the barriers that can prevent victims from disclosing abuse in healthcare, education and other professional settings.

Identify the importance of effective information sharing, professional curiosity and coordinated multi-agency safeguarding responses.

Apply learning from the Lauren Review to strengthen risk assessment, early intervention and support for young adults experiencing domestic abuse and mental health difficulties.
