To strengthen multi-agency understanding of the risks faced by children living with abuse, fear and hidden harm by exploring the lessons from the Sara Sharif case. Participants will develop confidence in recognising escalating risk, maintaining professional curiosity, hearing the voice of the child and working collaboratively to safeguard children where concerns are persistent, complex or difficult to evidence.

    Learning Objectives:

Recognise indicators of escalating risk, cumulative harm and hidden abuse affecting children and young people.

Understand the importance of professional curiosity, challenge and critical thinking when assessing safeguarding concerns.

Identify how effective information sharing, multi-agency working and child-centred practice support better safeguarding outcomes.

Apply learning from the Sara Sharif Review to strengthen decision-making, hear the voice of the child and respond effectively to persistent safeguarding concerns.
