Lockdown fine data doesn’t show complex reality, says NPCC
FIxed Penalty Notices (FPNs) data for the COVID-19 lockdown is too complex to confirm racial bias, the NPCC has claimed. The revised figures show BAME people were 1.6 times more likely to gets a ticket but police say there are too many factors involved.

The North-East Trading Standards Association is a partnership of the 12 Local Authority Trading Standards Services within the North-East of England. As part of its role, it oversees a Regional Intelligence Function aimed at co-ordinating criminal intelligence work across the region. The Regional Intelligence Analyst sits within, and directs the work of, the intelligence function; a small team which also includes a dedicated Regional Intelligence Officer. The Team implements and supports the National Trading Standards Intelligence Operating Model locally, regionally and nationally. Based in Middlesbrough, the Intelligence function sits alongside, and works closely with, the North-East Regional Investigations Team.
