Custody sergeant loses PAT appeal over dismissal for use of force against violent detainee
The appeal rejected a number of findings from the orginal hearing including the notion that the testimony of police witnesses on the night should be disregarded on the basis that they had a “misguided sense of loyalty” to Sgt Davies and/or South Wales Police. It found that there was no evidence to support this view but still considered that the orginal sanction should stay.
