The course draws on learning from Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs), the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, and national frameworks such as DASH and MARAC, supporting professionals to move from reactive to proactive intervention.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Recognise patterns of coercive control and cumulative risk that signal potential escalation.
- Apply appropriate risk assessment frameworks (DASH, DARA) confidently and interpret findings holistically.
- Identify points of prevention and early intervention within their role and across the system.
- Collaborate more effectively across agencies to share information, challenge appropriately, and coordinate safety planning.
- Reflect on lessons from Domestic Homicide Reviews to improve local practice and avoid missed opportunities.
- Demonstrate greater professional curiosity and confidence in managing complex or high-risk cases.
