Night shifts aren’t for everyone - not only do you have to deal with possible tiredness and fatigue but your meals get moved to strange times.

And both of those issues damaged the 'work' of a burglar in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, this week.

Fortunately for the rest of the public, Police Scotland officers were on hand to arrest him when he fell asleep, covered in crisps, inside the home he was targeting.

A tweet from Monklands Police said: "Sleeping on the Job! We all feel tired when we start a shift and a thief who started his shift at 23.45 yesterday was no different.

"He broke into a house on Corsewall St, decided on a pit stop, ate half a pie and fell asleep covered in Doritos. He woke up in cuffs #fingerlickinggood"
