Cheshire Constabulary is hoping a ‘naughty list’ compiled by Father Christmas will help catch 'crims at crimbo' this year.

The force has signed up the world’s most famous jolly fat man to deliver a series of Christmas messages appealing for the whereabouts of offenders and suspects.

As part of the ‘All We Want For Christmas’ campaign the big man has taken time out of his busy schedule at this time of year to help Cheshire Constabulary out.

He said: “Of course, this is a very busy time of year for me and my elves as we get ready to deliver presents to all the boys and girls of the world.

“But when I heard that Cheshire police needed my help I was only too happy to oblige.

“I’ll be visiting all the good boys and girls in Cheshire in a few weeks’ time, but in the meantime I’ll be focusing on those who might not have been so good this year.

“I hope my messages will be seen and, together, we can help the police to deliver justice.”

The videos will be posted on the force’s Facebook and Twitter pages and the ‘naughty list’ will also be available to view on the constabulary website.

Superintendent Jon Betts, Head of Criminal Justice and Custody, said: “We regularly appeal to the public for information that can help us as we try to track down our most prolific offenders who seem determined to evade us. At this time of year, thieves are doing their own brand of shopping too.

“We’re having a little bit of fun but there is a serious message behind this campaign. Individuals who try to evade the courts are denying victims their chance to see justice done and this can often leave many of those affected by crime unable to move on with their lives.

“We remain committed in our pursuit of those who believe they are above the law - and ensuring they are held to account for the crimes they have committed.”

“The 'Naughty List' marks the launch of the Constabulary’s festive campaign. Other areas that will be covered over the coming weeks include serious acquisitive crime, robbery, burglary, car crime etc, public space violence, drink-driving, cyber-crime and domestic violence.”

@Anonymous Just imagine what people would be saying if he was a DE Supt and he came up with this idea of ''having a little bit of fun'' but thankfully instead he's your typical, modern day, fifth rate so called Superintendent and my sincere sympathies are with the long suffering public of Cheshire.

You deserve much better than this.

Who's been naughty or who has been naughty. Not whose been naughty.
