Offenders who were under the influence of alcohol when they committed a crime can be fitted with 'sobriety tags' under new legislation brought in today (19 May 2020).

The tags monitor the wearer’s sweat every 30 minutes to determine whether they have consumed any alcohol. Courts can issue them to be worn for up to 120 days. If someone wearing a tag drinks alcohol – a breach of their alcohol...
