Ministry of Justice seeks to further toughen jail terms for officer assaults

The government has begun a fresh attempt to toughen the sentences for assaults on emergency workers. After pressure from the Police Federation and the Home Office the Ministry of Justice is consulting on increasing the tariff to two years.
