A sergeant from Hertfordshire has spoken of his surprise after winning a new iPad Mini – when he took part in a survey run by legal services provider TLT in association with Policeoracle.com.

Richard Cruse – who works in the Collision Investigation Unit at Hitchin Police Station – was pulled from our prize draw and the tablet was winging its way to him as this story went live.

The survey – compiled by TLT – aimed to take a snapshot of how the cuts stemming from the Comprehensive Spending Review of 2010 – are affecting policing.

Sgt Cruse said: “I have been a police officer for 17 years now and still enjoy the Job.

“But I have to say that I was surprised to win the iPad Mini because I never seem to win anything. I’m really looking forward to using it during my time off.”

The regular visitor to PoliceOracle.com added: “I use the site quite a lot – it is very useful to see what is going on both locally and in the wider policing family.

“There is a lot of information there and it is great that it is being regularly updated.”
