Met faces recruitment and budget issues as it launches 'new Met' plan

The force ended 2022/23 with a shortfall of over 1,000 officers and would require an extra £878m investment - equivalent to 9,600 PCs at full cost - to match its 2012 funding the Commissioner has said.
