This role is varied and rewarding but also challenging, it will provide opportunities to develop both personally and professionally and help shape the future of the Royal Falkland Islands Police. Applicants should have established policing skills and experience within a UK police service of at least 10 years or more and should not be more than 36 months out of policing and hold a full, clean driving licence.

As a Police Constable for the Royal Falkland Islands Police you will be in the unique position of being able to make a positive difference in the community and be at the very heart of making life safer and happier for everyone.

The Role

This role is varied and rewarding but also challenging, it will provide opportunities to develop both personally and professionally and help shape the future of the Royal Falkland Islands Police.

Demonstrating effective communication and inter-personal skills and guided by procedures you will build a rapport with our community whilst showing empathy and offering advice where necessary. We are looking for someone to work as part of a dedicated team that provides a 24/7 police service to the Falkland Islands community, you will help reduce crime, provide a reassuring presence and contribute to the prevention of incidents through thorough investigation and detection.

The Person

Applicants should have established policing skills and experience within a UK police service of at least 10 years or more and should not be more than 36 months out of policing and hold a full, clean driving licence.

The Package

  • Fixed Term Contract, up to 4 years.
  • Competitive Salary – From £28,982 per annum up to £35,672 per annum depending on qualifications and experience with an additional 10% Flexible Duty Allowance.
  • Eligibility for a 25% Gratuity (taxable).
  • 30 days paid annual leave.
  • Relocation Allowance, to help with moving costs.
  • Flights Package for you and any recognised dependents residing with you at post both at the beginning and end of contract, along with additional annual return flights contingent on the duration of the contract.
  • Government Housing for rent and a starter pack to help you settle in.
