Wacky marathon man PC Andy Seery has won the heart of Miss England for helping wounded Forces personnel – by running to Poland dressed as an ostrich.
Miss Englnad, LCpl Katrina Hodge has sponsored Andy Seery in his 900-mile run from London to Sroda Weilkopolska in aid of Help for Heroes – and has confirmed that she will be at the start line to see him off in person on April 1.
Katrina told ModOracle.com "As I am in the Army, Help for Heroes is obviously a cause that is very close to my heart – it does some very good work.
"What Andy is doing is amazing, and he has put a real fun element into his challenge. I have already sponsored him and I would urge others to do the same."
Metropolitan Police officer Seery, who has been training with battle-hardened soldiers from the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, said he felt ready for the month-long slog ahead.
The PC, who is known as Mad Cop, said: "To be honest, I don't think that I can get much fitter and I am now looking ahead to starting the challenge.
"The support from the Army, particularly the soldiers from the Coldstream Guards, has been absolutely phenomenal and I don't think I could really ask for more."
Seery is being backed by ModOracle.com plus sister websites PoliceOracle.com and Uniformdating.com.
