Test Purchase of DVD's in GlasgowTue, September 18, 2001Source:Multi-agency operation at a Glasgow market results inn seizure of 1000 DVD's.
On
Saturday 15th September 2001 a search was carried out by Police,
Trading Standards and FACT’s Senior Investigator, David MAYBERRY. The
goods arrived at 8.00 am at 28 Bain Street, Barrows Market, Glasgow. A test
purchase was made at the premises at 9.40 am by T.S.O and FACT. A short time
later the Police and Trading Standards entered the premises and the following
items were seized. 1114
DVD'S Titles which included, ‘Planet Of The Apes’ and ‘Cats and Dogs’. All were printed with “ALL” Region on
the inlays. Approximately 2000 optical Discs ( VCD's, Software, Games, Music) were
seized along with 4 V.C.D Players (new), 1 DVD and Monitor, 10 Laser Discs and 6
Gold cards, thought to be ITV Digital
cards, which were found on one of the persons serving at the market
