Northern NCF Office OpensWed, August 01, 2001Source: National Crime FacultyLancashire's Chief Constable opens Northern National Crime Faculty Office.
On
Monday 30th July 2001 the Chief Constable of Lancashire Constabulary,
Mrs Pauline Clare, officially opened the Northern Office of the NCF Operational
Support Section. The office,
situated at Lancashire Police Training Headquarters, Hutton Hall, Hutton Nr
Preston Lancashire, is being opened in response to the increasing demand for NCF
Operational Support Services. In
fact over the past 3 years calls to the Helpdesk alone have risen by an average
of 50% each year. These
services include Operational Support Officers (formerly known as Liaison
Officers), Behavioural Investigative Advisors (formally known as Offender
Profilers) and Geographic Profilers. Based at
Bramshill in Hampshire, the NCF is also keen to counter the perception that it
is a purely southern based organisation because of the location of its
headquarters. NCF services and facilities are available to all UK police
forces and it is hoped that the establishment of the Northern Office will
provide an increasingly efficient and effective delivery of these to forces in
this region. ACC Andy
Humphries, Assistant Director Crime and Operations, formally thanked Lancashire
Constabulary for their help and support in establishing the new office. He also
expressed the hope that after evaluating the impact on the level of service
provided, similar partnerships could be forged in the future in other regions of
the UK. |
