The Christian Police Association in Gloucestershire has been keen to link in with churches across the county, to provide information that will enable Christians to pray into law and order issues in their area, and to support their local policing and partnership teams by praying for individuals within them.  

PC Sue Johnson who is part of the Forest South SCT and also a Christian believes in the Power of Prayer and has contacted local churches asking them to remember their local police officers in their prayers. She intends to write to them on a monthly basis drawing their attention to certain areas of concern for which she thinks will benefit all. This will act as another link between the different communities and the police. 

The message for this month (August 2008) is as follows:

Please pray for all of the staff working from our Forest North and Forest South offices, along with their colleagues from elsewhere in the force who support them with specific policing operations. At present, the Forest District is suffering from increased levels of non-dwelling burglaries (sheds, garages and commercial premises). Pray for success in both reducing this crime and bringing those responsible to justice.
