Sergeant Charged With Firearms Offences

A Lancashire Police officer has been charged with a string of serious offences following a major operation that has been taking place over the past week.
Sgt Salim Razaq, of Chester Road, Preston, is facing allegations of attempting to pervert the course of justice, misconduct in a public office, three counts of possessing a firearm, possession of ammunition and money laundering.
The 32-year-old officer, who is based at Nelson, was arrested by police as part of an operation that started on March 16.
He is due to appear before Wirral JPs this morning (March 19).
