A PRIEST was viciously beaten up in his own churchyard in a feared faith-hate attack.

Rev Kevin Scully, 45, said three drunk Asian teens taunted him over his religion as they hit him in the face and kicked him to the floor.

He was attacked outside St Matthew’s Church in Bethnal Green, East London.

Days earlier he had confiscated the gang’s football as they hurled it at the church cross. A passer-by who tried to help was also beaten.

Rev Scully said: "There is a racial and religious element to this." Police are investigating.
