The goods are to be forwarded to charity 'His Church', an organisation that works closely with other police forces and trading standards. The charity will re-label all the seized goods and will then distribute them to war-torn countries and humanitarian aid agencies.
PC Steve Dixon said: "This is the ideal end to this story. The policing team in Cheetham have worked hard with Trading Standards and the local community to put a stop to illegal trading in the Strangeways area.
"It's great news for us to see that all this hard work has paid off as all the clothes seized are now going to a very worthwhile cause.
"All areas of crime are important to us in north Manchester and we will continue to work with our partners, like Trading Standards and charitable organisations to ensure we rid our streets of crime."
