A police officer who fondled a girl of 14 after “falling in love” with her was jailed for a year yesterday.

Dominic Liversedge, 27, met the teen at an amateur dramatics group in January — and even had her initials tattooed on his wrist.

He was shopped by his Cambridgeshire force colleagues, concerned about the relationship.

After his arrest, the sergeant — who immediately resigned — admitted kissing the youngster, fondling her breasts and touching her “intimately”.

The girl’s family had welcomed the relationship, but were unaware it was becoming sexual.

Judge Mensah told Luton Crown Court the cop’s conduct was “a gross breach of trust”.

As well as the prison sentence, Liversedge will be on the Sex Offenders register for ten years.
