New CID Head For Central Scotland

Detective Superintendent David Wilson has been appointed to take over has Head of CID for Central Scotland Police.
The wide-ranging role sees him take overall charge of divisional CID as well as a number of specialist units within Drugs and Specialist Services and the Intelligence Directorate. These include Special Branch, the Family and Domestic Abuse Unit, Offender Management, Finacial Crime Unit, E-Crime Unit and Drugs and Surveillance.
He will be supported by three Detective Chief Inspectors Jacqui Rennie (CID Ops), Graham Bye (Drugs and Specialist Services) and Gordon Dawson (Intelligence Directorate).
Det Supt Wilson, who had been DCI CID Operations, takes over from Allan Moffat, following his promotion to Detective Chief Superintendent with the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency (SCDEA) where he is in charge of Interventions.
The Stirling-born officer joined Central Scotland Police as a cadet in 1979 and moved to CID in 1986. He has worked in a number of areas across crime management including serious crime investigation, tackling drug supply and forensic support. He has also worked extensively with partner agencies in relation to child protection, domestic abuse and vulnerable adults at risk.
Det Supt Wilson was the Senior Investigating Officer for the recent large-scale investigation which resulted in an Alva man being jailed for offences under terrorism legislation.
The new head of CID said: "My aim is to modernise Central Scotland Police's response to the management of crime, public protection and to improve efficiency, whilst maintaining a high detection rate. We will also continue to focus on organised criminals, particularly those involved in the supply of drugs across the communities we serve."
