PCSO Craig Spicer from Merseyside Police scooped up three awards at the national WOW! awards held in London.

The event, held at Troxy, recognises excellence in customer service with nominations for both the public and private sector. Merseyside Police beat stiff competition to win the titles of "Serving the Community - Best Organisation," "WOW! That's Really Special" award - for Constable Colin Miller" and "Most Inspiring Front Liner" - for PSCO Craig Spicer.

Neighbourhood Officer, Constable Colin Miller was nominated for his help earlier in the year when he was invaluable to a number of elderly residents in the Billinge area during the bad weather. Constable Miller did the food shopping for residents, checked in on them in his own time, and would never take any payment for the goods.

“We are very proud that Merseyside Police and two of our officers have received such prestigious accolades”

PCSO Craig Spicer was nominated for his help in dealing with anti-social behaviour in the Tuebrook. One resident talks about how he had been instrumental in bringing the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme together and helping residents with crime prevention advice.

Andrea Thompson-Jones, the Force Customer Service Manager said: "We are very proud that Merseyside Police and two of our officers have received such prestigious accolades. We work hard to deliver the best service we can to the public of Merseyside and winning three WOW! Awards is proof of this. This is the 2nd year we have been recognised by our communities and the WOW! Awards for excellent customer service, a standard we will continue to deliver."
