A Warwickshire police officer who campaigned to bring the qualifying period for police officer long service and good conduct medals in line with other emergency services, has been awarded at a commendation ceremony.
Police Officer Kenneth Fowler’s success in securing a reduction from 22 to 20 years of service has resulted in an unprecedented number of officers receiving the award.
The commendations were presented by Martin Dunne JP, Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire, on behalf of Chief Constable Keith Bristow.
Note
Kenneth Fowler’s campaign was widely supported by Chief Officers and the Police Federations. The Royal warrant introducing the amendment was approved on 19 January 2010 and eligibility is with effect from that date.
