Further Arrests In Public Order Probe

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has confirmed that three more people have been charged in connection with public order offences in Belfast.
It has been confirmed that an 18-year-old man is now facing ten allegations, including assaulting police, provocative behaviour and possessing and throwing petrol bombs on the evening of Wednesday July 14.
In addition a 20-year-old man is charged with of riotous behaviour and throwing a petrol bomb the previous night. Both will appear before the city’s JP’s tomorrow.
A PSNI statement confirmed that a 15-year-old charged in connection with the disorder will appear before Belfast Youth Court at the end of the month.
Some 11 arrests have now been made in connection with the public order incidents.
As reported on PoliceOracle.com there were ugly scenes in some areas of the city amid the Orange Order marching season. Officers came under attack and the Army Ammunition Technical Officers were called to deal with a pipe bomb.
Reports suggest that more than 80 officers were injured during the trouble. Chief Constable Matt Baggott has praised his personnel for their courage and resilience during the unrest, which has been universally condemned by politicians from all sides as well as religious leaders in the province.
