The Independent Police Complaints Commission has confirmed that former Police Constable Geoffrey Harries appeared before Cardiff Magistrates Court on 13 May 2008.

The former Dyfed-Powys Police constable has been charged with 15 offences of making indecent images - contrary to sections 1(1)(A) and 6 of the Protection of Children Act 1976 and one offence of possession of indecent images - contrary to section 160(1),(2A) and (3) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988.

PC Harries resigned from the force on 26 march 2008.

The investigation has been carried out by Dyfed-Powys Police professional standards department, under the management of the IPCC.

It would be inappropriate for the IPCC to comment further at this stage.
